Why the Redwood Forest slideshow?

Judy had always loved trees, and in 2008 we spent some time among the California Redwoods. Some of the ingredients in Judy's chemo cocktail were derived from trees (not Redwoods but Yews). We always knew that Judy loved the trees, and the trees got their chance to repay her affection.

A good weekend in Lubbock

It was Valentine's weekend, and the weather cooperated. We spent Valentine's itself at home—Judy felt too tired to go out for a big dinner after along week of work. On Saturday, we were with Alan and Martha H. (on the right in the photo), and Sunday night Emily came over and shared a nice steak and pasta dinner with us.

Sunday afternoon, Emily and Judy took Martha out for a spin through the neighborhood while the boys had their own ride. And just for good measure, Wes and the ever-so-cute Annabella stopped by in the late afternoon. Anna insisted that Judy wear a crown and wear a "dress" (her own tiny apron) to be a "princess," and the two of them chased bubbles in the front yard.

This morning Judy will have her weekly lab work done, and we are hoping that she will have chemo #5 next week after we come back from Paris, Emily's graduation trip.

You make a pretty cute princess Ms. Judy! We've still got you in our prayers and are happy to see you doing well!
