Why the Redwood Forest slideshow?

Judy had always loved trees, and in 2008 we spent some time among the California Redwoods. Some of the ingredients in Judy's chemo cocktail were derived from trees (not Redwoods but Yews). We always knew that Judy loved the trees, and the trees got their chance to repay her affection.

24 hours later

Judy spent a rather good night after yesterday's surgery. She said that my being her made her feel comfortable. In the photo above you see Candice (who arrived this morning) fanning her with the little memento that Emily brought back for Judy from Spain. Judy is still running a slight fever, and one moment she's hot, one moment cold. Dr. Phillips came through in the morning, and he was very positive and upbeat about both the surgery as well as Judy's looks this morning. Obviously, we have a long road ahead of us, but Judy's spirits and attitude were strong today, and even though we can expect more set-backs, we're ready to tackle recovery.

Judy,

We are so sorry to hear that you remain in the hospital and have had to undergo a second surgery! Please know that you have a ton of people all over the place praying for you and thinking of you and Jurgen at this time.

Stay strong and rest up...you WILL beat this thing.

We have been thinking of you and praying for you since the update from Jurgen at the Club meeting on Monday night. Keep you head up and stay strong, you are fighting this and will win. You are a strong lady! You are very blessed to have Jurgen by your side, rest and heal and know that we are fighting with you as we hold you up in prayer.

Dearest Judy,
We are wishing you quick healing now that the abcess is removed. Seems like Dr. P is right, the cancer is the thing to focus on. Wayne was remembering that Tim had a colostmy bag for quite a while but you could never see it. As you say you will work through this too and we will all support and help you in any way we can. You are so precious to us all. Love and prayer to you both. LoWayne
