Why the Redwood Forest slideshow?

Judy had always loved trees, and in 2008 we spent some time among the California Redwoods. Some of the ingredients in Judy's chemo cocktail were derived from trees (not Redwoods but Yews). We always knew that Judy loved the trees, and the trees got their chance to repay her affection.

Another delay

Chemo round #4 has been delayed by another week since Judy's blood values are not what they should be. After today's lab work Judy was told that she would need another blood transfusion tomorrow. Obviously she's not too excited about that, especially since the three-unit transfusion will be treated as day surgery, meaning she'll be at Covenant for the better part of the day. Maybe it is time to pull out the EPO...

But as one of her doctor friends opined: This seems to prove that the chemo is doing what it is supposed to do--kill everything in its sight.

Happier news: Judy's birthday cake for Anna's 3rd birthday was a hit! It featured Dora, Boots, and the theme from Ready, Set, Go!, where our little friend's birthday was celebrated last Saturday. Anna, in pink, LOVED her cake!

Hi Judy!
Wow-that's quite the cake! Can I put in an order for Sept?? :>

Took Dixi & Kodi out sledding this morning-temps are suppose to drop below zero for the rest of the week so we won't be doing much outside those days (-30F with the windchill).

Here's expecting the transfusion will have you ready for your next round of chemo in record time!

Hugs,
Cindi :>

Judy, glad you're still doing well enough to bake awesome cakes! Don't get too down about the set back...that stupid disease is just trying to mess with your emotions since it knows it doesn't have a chance. ;) Hang in there, we love you!
